The Propeller Club of Northern California actively supports the California Maritime Academy, one of only seven degree-granting maritime academies in the United States. In the past, we have sponsored cadets to attend the annual California Maritime Leadership Symposium in Sacramento and participated in the school’s Career & Community Expo.
Members are encouraged to sponsor a cadet to attend our functions, including quarterly luncheons.
Club members have visited the campus several times. We have toured the Golden Bear, the academy’s primary training vessel, where cadets apply technological skills introduced in the classroom and leadership skills acquired from their work assignments. Each summer, cadets in their first and third years depart with officers for two months of training.
